HealthyWage, founded in 2009, has grown to be a leading provider of outcomes-based corporate and consumer weight loss programs. They administered company-wide initiatives at over thirty Fortune 500, dozens of large public employers, and hundreds of smaller organizations. A rapidly growing consumer program, including the HealthyWage, has helped nearly a half-million people lose weight.

The approach focuses on social and personal conditions that cause sustained obesity. The prevalence of obesity in part of their social network of family and friends impacts the addition to the overall cheap empty calories. The Research

The founders were inspired to create HealthyWage after reading the results of a study published in 2008 in the Journal of the American Medical Association ("JAMA") by several professors at Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania (all completely unaffiliated with HealthyWage and its founders). The study was controlled, randomized, and double-blind. The incentive for staying fit

$10,000 Individual or Team Challenge for weight loss competition challenge. HealthyWage pays a hefty prize to the participants with the most significant weight loss percentage. The winning team group or individual effort for their team or personal success is declared the winner.

Jackpot Challenges are individual, and teams (4 to 9 teammates) in the weight loss competitions compete to lose a specific body weight percentage at the end of the challenge. Participants will pay a fee into the "pot" before beginning the challenge. At the end of the challenge, the individual or team winners split equal shares of the cash prize. 

Step Challenges with a fitness tracking device allows individuals and teams to compete for cash prizes by increasing their physical activity. Participants pay a fee before the beginning of the challenge. When participants meet the activity goal by the end of the challenge win the cash prize.
